Football: Understand the Markets and Match Rules
25 October 2026 · 1 min read
Football markets measure different parts of a match. A match-result selection concerns the outcome, BTTS concerns whether both teams score, and total-goals markets concern the combined score.
Before reviewing a fixture, check the market’s stated period and settlement rules. Regulation time, extra time and qualification markets can produce different outcomes from the same match.
Compare common football markets
| Market | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Match result — 1X2 | Home win, draw or away win within the stated period |
| Both Teams to Score | Whether both teams score at least once |
| Over/Under goals | Whether the total is above or below the specified line |
| Double chance | Two of the three possible match results |
| To qualify | Which team progresses, according to the market rules |
